Kitchen Team
Kitchen San José del Cabo
Kitchen San Jose del Cabo reopens on Saturday, November 2, 2026. After our annual renovation period, we are returning for the 2026-2027 season with the same open-fire Mediterranean cooking, the same charcoal grill, and the same sourdough starter Andrea, now over 1,500 days old. Reservations are open on OpenTable.
When Does Kitchen San Jose del Cabo Reopen?
Kitchen reopens on Saturday, November 2, 2026. Our regular schedule resumes immediately: Tuesday through Sunday, 5 PM to 10 PM. We are closed on Mondays. The Art District season in San Jose del Cabo traditionally begins in late October and early November, and Kitchen's reopening coincides with the start of the busiest dining season in Los Cabos.
The first weekend of the season tends to fill quickly. If you want a table on November 2 or November 3, book now through OpenTable or contact us via WhatsApp at +52 624 155 2338.
What Is New for the 2026-2027 Season?
Kitchen does not reinvent itself every season. The core of what we do, open-fire charcoal cooking, family-style sharing plates, and the Mediterranean menu, stays the same because it works. But every renovation period brings refinements:
- Kitchen renovations completed: We used the off-season to maintain and upgrade the physical kitchen, including the charcoal grill setup and the bread station where Andrea lives.
- Menu refinements: The menu remains intentionally small. Every dish earns its place. Expect some new seasonal additions when we reopen, alongside the signatures that our regulars come back for: the sourdough bread, the sirloin croquettes, the charcoal-grilled octopus, and the grilled fish of the day.
- Extended Cook Your Catch service: Our popular service where you bring your morning catch and we cook it over charcoal for dinner is back. We are partnering with more fishing charters this season to make the process even smoother.
- Private events ready from day one: Full buyouts (up to 60 guests), semi-private sections (10-30), and intimate group dining (10-15) are all available starting November 2.
How Do I Reserve a Table at Kitchen for November?
Reservations for November and the rest of the season are open now. Here are your options:
- OpenTable: The fastest way to book. Search for "Kitchen San Jose del Cabo" on OpenTable or use our direct reservation link. You can see real-time availability and book instantly.
- WhatsApp: Send us a message at +52 624 155 2338 with your preferred date, time, and party size. Our team responds within a few hours during business days.
- Walk-ins: We accept walk-ins when tables are available, but during peak season (November through April), we strongly recommend reserving ahead. Friday and Saturday evenings fill first.
For groups of 6 or more, please contact us directly via WhatsApp so we can arrange the best seating for your party.
What Should I Know Before Dining at Kitchen?
If this is your first time at Kitchen, here is what to expect:
The Open Kitchen
Everything at Kitchen is cooked over a charcoal grill in a completely open kitchen. There are no walls between the cooking and the dining. You watch your food being prepared in real time. This is not a show kitchen with one decorative flame. This is where every single dish on the menu gets made.
Family-Style Dining
Dishes arrive at the center of the table and everyone shares. This is how Kitchen was designed to work. It creates conversation, variety, and the kind of dinner where people actually put their phones away. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know when you reserve and we will make sure there are options for everyone at the table.
The Sourdough Bread
Andrea, our sourdough starter, has been alive for over 1,500 days. She produces all the bread served at Kitchen. The bread arrives warm at your table at the start of the meal, and it consistently generates more conversation than some of the main courses. Do not skip it.
The Kitchen Experience
For guests who want the full immersion, The Kitchen Experience is a four-course tasting menu with cocktail pairings at each course, priced at $1,805 MXN per person. It is the best way to experience the full range of what we do. Available for tables of 2 or more, by reservation.
Dress Code and Atmosphere
Smart casual. Kitchen is not formal, but it is not beach casual either. Think of it as a nice dinner out with friends in a setting that happens to have a charcoal grill as the centerpiece. We are pet friendly.
Where Is Kitchen Located?
Kitchen is inside Plaza Legado (the locals call it "La Escuelita") in the Art District of San Jose del Cabo. The Art District is the walkable gallery neighborhood between Obregon, Guerrero, Morelos, and Comonfort streets, a few blocks from the main town square (Plaza Mijares).
If you are visiting during the Thursday Art Walk (5 PM to 9 PM, November through June), Kitchen is perfectly positioned for dinner before, during, or after the gallery walk.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Reopening
Can I make a reservation for November 2, the reopening night?
Yes. Reservations are open on OpenTable right now. Opening night tends to fill with regulars and locals, so book early if you want a specific time. We recommend reserving for 7 PM or later if you want the full evening atmosphere with the kitchen at peak energy.
Is Kitchen open on the Day of the Dead (November 1-2)?
Kitchen reopens on November 2. November 1 (Dia de Muertos) we will still be in final preparations. If you are in San Jose del Cabo for Day of the Dead celebrations, your timing is perfect. The town square and the Art District are beautifully decorated, and Kitchen reopens just as the festivities wrap up.
Do I need a reservation, or can I walk in?
Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during the first weeks of the season and on weekends. We do accept walk-ins when there is availability, but we cannot guarantee a table without a reservation during peak times. OpenTable shows real-time availability so you can check before heading over.
What are the hours and which days are you open?
Tuesday through Sunday, 5 PM to 10 PM. Closed Mondays. This schedule runs throughout the entire season from November through the following summer.
Can I host a private event during November?
Yes. Private events are available from opening day. We host corporate dinners, birthday celebrations, wedding rehearsal dinners, and group tastings for 10 to 60 guests. Contact us via WhatsApp at +52 624 155 2338 to discuss dates and options.
Is the Cook Your Catch service available right away?
Yes. Cook Your Catch is available from November 2. Reserve at least 24 hours in advance, bring your cleaned catch to Kitchen before 2 PM, and we cook it over charcoal for your dinner that evening. Contact us via WhatsApp to arrange.
What is on the menu?
The menu is Mediterranean with an emphasis on charcoal-grilled proteins and seasonal ingredients. Signatures include the sourdough bread from Andrea, sirloin croquettes, charcoal-grilled octopus, mussels, seasonal vegetables, grilled fish of the day, and the Pappardelle. The full Kitchen Experience tasting menu ($1,805 MXN per person with cocktail pairings) showcases the best of each course.
Is Kitchen kid-friendly and pet-friendly?
Yes to both. Children are welcome, and the open kitchen is fascinating for curious kids. We are also pet friendly, so your four-legged companion is welcome on the patio.
The Season Ahead
The 2026-2027 season in San Jose del Cabo is shaping up to be the best yet. The Art District continues to grow with new galleries and restaurants, but Kitchen remains committed to what has worked since day one: cook everything over charcoal, keep the menu small and honest, share plates family style, and let the food speak for itself.
We cannot wait to see you on November 2.
